Meet Popular Girl: Hassie Harrison!
Jul 19, 2019
We’ve been watching Hassie Harrison since she was on the CW hit series, “Hart of Dixie”. Hassie is staring in TruTv’s comedy “Tacoma FD”, where she plays, Lucy, the chief’s daughter and first female firefighter assigned to the Tacoma station. Her character is tough and intent on proving that she belongs in the boys club.
We got a chance to sit down and ask her some of our exclusive questions.
Tell us about your comedy series Tacoma FD?
Well, I’m pretty partial to the show, so I’d say it’s funny. But yeah, it’s a comedy about a group of firefighters up in Tacoma, where it rains so often, we seem to fight more boredom than fires. Which leads to lots of shenanigans and pranks. AKA – a shit ton of fun.
How are you and your character, Lucy, similar? And how are you and your character different?
I’m left-handed and Lucy is right-handed. So that’s tough. The writers really threw me a curveball But otherwise, I’d say we are pretty similar. We work hard and play harder.
We have featured many of your cast mates on Popular TV, can you tell us about a funny moment or two on set with the rest of the cast?
There aren’t that many pranks or anything like that. We laugh and joke all day. It’s our homeostasis. But our text thread is all time. Legendary. We should publish a novel of the thread at the end of the series
Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner?
Jack Kerouac – My sweet pup of 15 years who recently passed away. Cocomeaux. Rachel Weisz. Buster Keaton.
Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)?
I gotta go Led Zeppelin
Turns ons – Sense of humor. Good manners. Tall, dark and handsome.
Turn offs – People who are rude to anyone in the service industry. Cockiness. Know-it-alls.
Then it wouldn’t be a secret. Oh ok, I’ll tell you one. This isn’t a personal secret, but a secret to life. Be vulnerable. Lead with your heart. Keep a positive and enthusiastic spirit. And good things will always cross your path and lead you to good people and experiences. That’s my take on it, anyways.
Do you have a party trick?
I do an excellent “worm” (I once won a dance competition at a wedding in a castle with that slick move.)
An embarrassing moment?
I have a great poop story, but it’ always wanted to bring my sweet pup to my trailer. I always told her we would book a great show. And it took 7 long years. I’m so proud to be a part of Tacoma FD. It’s my dream come true. And I finally brought my little gal to work and she loved sitting in my trailer with me.
What does Popular mean to you?
Having a great tribe and community!!! Also, Christiano Ronaldo and Selena Gomez.
Can you tell us about any other projects you have coming up?
I have a movie coming out called MAX RELOAD AND THE NETHERBLASTERS. It’s a video-game nostalgia-piece about a group of kids who stop the end of the world by going into a legendary unreleased video game.
