POPULAR GIRL: CHANDLER KINNEY
Mar 16, 2018

Meet Popular Girl – Chandler Kinney our triple threat actor, dancer and she holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. If that isn’t enough, Chandler founded her own non-profit organization “Chandler’s Friends” that gives back to children in need in the community. We were excited to sit down and get to know the breakout star of Fox’s Lethal Weapon.
What gets you up in the morning?
My intrinsic motivation is what gets me up every morning. I’m always juggling more than what should be possible, so I usually wake up with a sense of excitement to get stuff done. But good music and sunshine get me out of bed too.
Your biggest virtue?
Tenacity. It’s what keeps me working for the longest of days with little sleep. It’s the fire that fuels me to keep going no matter what happens. I do not stop until I achieve my goal. Some may call it stubbornness…
Your biggest vice?
Definitely impatience. I hate when I do the work and don’t see the result right away.
Do you have a party trick?
My best party trick: being able to scout out the food table within seconds of entering the event.
How would you describe your style?
The word that best defines my style is “eclectic.” Whatever I wear depends on where I’m going and how I’m feeling! I like to change it up and be unpredictable.
What would constitute a perfect day for you?
Waking up at around 9, having breakfast by the ocean in Malibu, going to set, then having dinner out with some friends would be a great day!
What would your very last meal entail?
A big sandwich with a side of fries and a chocolate shake.
Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner?
Oprah, Lupita Nyong’o, and Albus Dumbledore
Turn ons?
Confidence and good music taste!
Turn offs?
Dishonesty
Tell us a secret.
I’m secretly an expert baker….shhhh.
Your favorite quote?
“Shoot for the moon and if you fall short, you’ll land among the stars.” The way I’ve structured my life has always been inspired by that quote.
An embarrassing moment?
I think it’s always mildly embarrassing when you’re certain that someone is waving at you, so you wave back just to realize that there’s someone standing behind you that they’re making eye contact with. The awkward stretch that you disguise your “wave” as is even more embarrassing.
Your proudest moment?
I would say that one of my proudest moments was getting home from a week-trip to New York where I spent the majority of my time in classes. It was one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had.
Could you tell us more about some of the projects you are working on?
I play Riana Murtaugh on Lethal Weapon which you can check out on Tuesday nights, 8/7c, on Fox! It’s a fun show, and in my completely, entirely, 100% unbiased opinion, it’s really good.
