Popular Girl: Pepi Sonuga!

Etc.

Aug 1, 2018

Keep your eye on Pepi Sonuga! We wanted to catch up with Pepi and ask her some of our exclusive questions because we just know, she is on her way to being the next “It Girl” in Hollywood. We loved Pepi in “Famous in Love”. She also has “Under the Silver Lake” and “Thriller” coming out this year.

Tell us about your character Tangey Turner in Famous in Love?

Tangey is a fierce pop star who is constantly striving to have complete control of her life and career.

How are you and your character similar? And how are you and your character different?

We are both ambitious, passionate, and try to go the extra mile for our friends. I have never slapped anyone ever, so, there’s that difference. LOL

Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner?

Maya Angelou, Beyoncé, and Jesus

Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)?

Tina Turner circa the 1970’s

Turn ons?

Cologne. Confidence. Sense of self.

Turn offs?

Arrogance. Fakeness. Unkindness. Clogs.

Tell us a secret.

Then it wouldn’t be a secret. My lips are sealed.

Do you have a party trick?

I can open bottles without an opener. That’s dangerous. And pretty useless. I mean there’s an opener right there. Don’t do it.

An embarrassing moment?

I once accidentally saved a number under the wrong name. Spent a week texting that person under the impression that it was my friend. I invited “my friend” out one day and when they showed up, it was the wrong person. I was horrified. I hung out with them anyway though. But never again after that LOL.

Your proudest moment?

Any moment my cat chooses (without me gently and lovingly forcing her) to cuddle me, spend time with me, or just acknowledge my general existence, is a proud moment for me.

What does Popular mean to you?

Popular is being your most awesome, assured, confident self and not worrying about who doesn’t think that version of you is cool.

Can you tell us about any other projects you have coming up?

I just shot a remake of Leprechaun for Syfy! Look out for that early next year.
