We are obsessed with Aimee deBeer! We can’t stop listening to her new song “Who Will Save The Universe”.
We got a chance to sit down and chat with Aimee and ask her some of our exclusive questions about her music and what inspires her!
What was your inspiration for your new EP ‘Who Will Save The Universe”? This life. The strangeness of the journey. How questions are far superior to answers.
What inspires you to be an artist and write your own songs? Conveying abstract feeling through space and time is my favorite method of communication.
If you could work with any artist – who would it be? Currently, Frank Ocean.
What city was your favorite to perform in? Why? NYC. I performed there the most. A good live music scene. And, I miss my old bandmates.
Karaoke Anthem? I often plan on singing Sinead O’Connor but become too shy and awkward to go through with it. No karaoke for me.
Favorite Song? My ex best-friend, Patrick, introduced me to the Cardigan’s cover of Black Sabbath’s, “Iron Man”. That’s a damn good song. Also, the UK Surf mix of the Pixies “Wave of Mutilation”. And, Brian Eno’s “Dead Finks Don’t Talk”.
Favorite Movie? Fantasia? Although I cry every time I watch The Fountain.
Favorite snack? A can of artichoke hearts, olives, or dark chocolate
TV addiction? The OA
Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)? The Velvet Underground and Nico. I low-key used to stalk Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson (sorry!)
