Meet Superhero Olivia Holt

I’m sure you’ve seen our cover girl Olivia Holt in her new role as Dagger, in MARVEL’s Cloak and Dagger.

We are obsessed with her for many reasons! Not only is she an accomplished actress, but also a singer, with hit singles including “Generous” and “History” which had over 130 million streams on Spotify!

We caught up with Olivia in LA and got a chance to find out what it’s like being one of Hollywood’s hottest young actors!

What is it like playing Tandy Bowen/Dagger in Cloak and Dagger?

Empowering. In every way possible. Tandy lives a roller coaster of a life. She fights for what she wants and never stops at no. Even though she can be a very cynical human being, deep down she believes so fiercely in hope. And we see glimpses of that through this first season. I’m incredibly grateful to tell this young woman’s story and inspire other women to beat to the rhythm of her own drum.

How are you and your character Tandy Bowen similar, how are you different? 

I think we’re pretty similar in the sense that we both have passions, and the drive and motivation for them. And I’d say the big difference is she naturally kicks some major ass. I’m still working on that part.

How do you balance your acting career with your singing career?

It’s a challenge in it’s own for sure. But a challenge I’m constantly willing to face and make happen because both I’m so insanely passion about. This past year has been nice though because I’ve really gotten the chance to prioritize both and focus on each one so delicately. Which I personally think makes a huge difference.

If you could work with any artist – who would it be?

I mean, there’s so many artists I’d wanna work with but if it came down to it, probably my favorite vocalist of all time, Cynthia Erivo.

Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)? 

The Beatles. One hundred percent.

Favorite song of yours? 

Currently, Speechless by Dan + Shay. Makes me swoon every time.

Do you have a nickname?

Liv.

Most person texted in your phone?

My mama. She’s constantly sending me pictures of my dogs.

Career Icon?

Reese Witherspoon. I’ve worshipped her films ever since I was a little girl.

Favorite mascara? 

Neutrogena Hydroboost Mascara! I swear by it.

Favorite sneakers?

My all white Puma sneakers. I wear them with legitimately everything.

Favorite book? 

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Must read with tissues and an open heart.

TV addiction? 

Reality cooking shows. In another life I was a kickass chef.

Last movie watched? 

How To Be Single. The most relatable chick flick ever.

“You have a great laugh.” Reality is I have 27 different laughs and all of them are insanely loud and obnoxious.
