Still buzzing off the success of her recent single, triumphant offering “Good Enough,” which was centred around negative body image and gender stereotypes, Dublin-hailing pop prodigy KK Lewis has returned with yet another exciting gem, sharing pensive single “First Bus Home.” Known for her impressive lyricism centered around important topics, and her story-driven narratives that never fail to evoke emotions, KK Lewis is without a doubt an artist everyone should keep their eye on, as she is gearing up to achieve great things within the music industry. Tricky conversations are there to be had, KK Lewis certainly aims to touch on a lot of different topics through her music, that is influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Arlo Parks and Celeste.

Released via Anon Records, “First Bus Home” marks KK Lewis’ third single, taken off her forthcoming EP, that will see her explore all the different sides of herself and her sound throughout each different track. Centered around a minimal instrumental that is driven by soothing guitar licks and slow, trap-inspired percussion, “First Bus Home” is a well-written and produced bedroom pop gem. KK Lewis’ vocal performance is lively and intimate, while the infectious backing vocals help fill the atmosphere in a stunning way. “First Bus Home” is a glowing reflection of teenage headache. Discussing the single KK Lewis explains:

“The song captures a memory in Dublin City in the early hours of the morning waiting for the buses to start running again after a night out. It depicts my later teenage years and explores how isolating love can feel and how quickly these emotions can overtake you and leave you feeling completely lost. Listening to this song now is like reading an excerpt from my diary, I can visualise the memory in my head so clearly and even though it was such a confusing and lonely time in my life, I can look back now with some clarity.”
