From sharing their debut single back in 2019 to now having been booked to perform their first ever live show at Rise Festival this coming October alongside JP Saxe, Magic Giant and Emmit Fenn, Meridian have definitely come a long way in a very short timespan. Made up of musicians Everett Pearson and Kyle Marshall, Meridian is without a doubt a power-duo, and are bound to make it big with their ethereal combination of electronic sounds and acoustic elements.

Meridian hit it big immediately with their debut release “Trails” alongside Matt Palomino, a truly stunning record with its organic percussion, warm ambiances and intimate vocals, that has amassed over 1.7 million streams on Spotify since its release. A number of collaborations with the likes of Chitra and Owen Painter followed over the next year, until Meridian were ready to unveil their debut EP ‘halfway’ via buzzing label TH3RD BRAIN, which included features from established songwriters Nylo and Ayelle, and landed them inclusions in the coveted editorial Spotify playlists Chill Tracks and creamy.

Having truly cemented themselves as a rising act to watch, Meridian have now just unveiled their brand new single “Never Say” featuring devan, which acts as a teaser for their upcoming, 4-track EP ‘dual,’ set for release later this year. The entire EP makes up for a stylistic shift in Meridian’s tunes, seeing the talented musicians incorporate more organic and human elements in their productions. As they explain, they stumbled upon this sound while writing “Never Say,” which perfectly compliments devan’s heavenly vocal performance with its warm guitars, smooth kicks and minimal percussion.

“Never say was in many ways the catalyst for the rest of this project. We explored a bunch of new re-sampling and time-stretching techniques and in doing so we found a sound we wanted to utilize further over the course of a full EP. It was a pleasure to work with Devan on this track, her tone and writing is a perfect fit for the track,” explains the duo.

There is no doubt that Meridian are only getting started and are gearing up for a career that will slowly but surely take them to the upper echelons of electronic music, and well beyond. We couldn’t be more excited to watch them grow as artists.
