Video Premiere: Reptar

Mar 9, 2015

It’s been a minute since we last heard from the Georgia four-piece Reptar, but not to worry — the boys are back! About two years after dropping their debut LP Body Faucet, the Athens band is gearing up to release their sophomore album, Lurid Glow, via Joyful Noise Recordings on March 31. And after scoring an early listen of the record, we suggest preparing your stereo now, because this time their self-described brand of “disco dust” is weirder (read: more awesome) than ever. Now they’re bringing the wild times yet again with their newest single, “Cable.”

Packed with a clappy intro and a zippy pop melody, this isn’t the type of song you can listen to halfway. You’ve got to crank it up to 11, roll the windows down, and just let yourself go. And while it seems impossible to capture the track’s irreverent funky vibe into visual form, the guys have managed to just that in their brand new music video.”Cable” is a wild, colorful party packed into a four-minute clip, so watch our exclusive premiere above, and then check out Reptar’s spring tour dates here.

Contrary to popular belief, Reptar's band name isn't inspired by the Rugrats character. But if you want to still pretend it is, we totally don't blame you.
