SONG PREMIERE: HØØNCH

We’re still not 100% sure how to pronounce this band’s name, but that’s fine with us, since they’ve surfaced with quite the jam. HØØNCH—a new indie-electronic duo from LA—has created a fun, (end of) summer, synth-rock track called “Top” that we just can’t get out of our heads. The duo, comprised of Jonathan Kim and Gabriel Rodrigues, played together in previous bands. Influenced by ZHU and Phoenix, it’s not surprising that “Top” is a super catchy song.
“I wanted the song to mean different things for different people, but for me personally, the words of the song represents an inner dialogue I’m having with my own addictions and vices,” said Jonathan of the track. “At the same time I wanted to contrast that by capturing the moment of what it feels like to be freed from those very things.”
