Sound Off: Final Child!

Meet our new obsession Jen Akerman a.k.a. Final Child! We are so excited for the second half  of her EP/album “Till Death Do Us Part” to come out in the beginning of next year!

We caught up with this talented singer at her photo shoot in the Hollywood Hills and asked her some of our exclusive questions.

What was your inspiration for your music?

Oh, so many things inspire me! Other artists, bands, stories, life experience, love, hate. List goes on..

What inspires you to be an artist and write your own songs?

That I’m forced to dig deep within myself and be honest. The deeper I go, the better the song gets. 

If you could work with any artist – who would it be?

Dave Grohl!

What city was your favorite to perform in? Why?

Atlanta I think! Audience was awesome and I actually really like the city as well. 

Karaoke Anthem?

Oh… I’m honestly not the biggest karaoke fan haha but if I had to choose… maybe a Spice Girls song?

Favorite Song?

Foo Fighters – But Honestly

Favorite Movie?

I’d say “My Week With Marylin”, but then remember I watch like one movie a year…

Favorite snack?

Jerky!

 TV addiction?

Russian Doll. I’m pretty much in love with Natasha Lyonne. 

Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)?

Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner?

Jim Carrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dave Grohl. I think we’d have a good time and great conversations. 

Do you have a party trick?

I can pop my hips in and out/back and forth.. Sounds creepy I know!

Tell us a secret?

When I’m home alone, unless I’m working in the studio, I always have Friends on. It’s actually playing right now. Please Netflix don’t let them go!

What does popular mean to you?

Interesting question.. First thing I think about are teenagers, but when you get older being popular isn’t as important. Working hard and reaching your own goals is success to me!

Can you tell us about any shows or projects you have coming up?

Yes! I’ve got tons of more music coming! The second half of my EP/album “Till Death Do Us Part” is coming beginning of next year and shows will be announced right after. I’m looking forward to dive into the studio again.
