Energy, Love, and Diversity: Those are some words that describe the artist Shab, a singer that transmits authenticity and passion through her music.
With Persian and Latin influence, the singer has just released her new music video “Spell On Me”.  The video comes with a very well done production, beautiful dancers and costumes that makes everybody wish them! – Special peak to the leather jacket that Shab is wearing. We are dying for one!
Lucky us, we had the opportunity to interview her and get to know everything about her new single, inspirations behind her music and how is to deal with career and motherhood.

1) Tell us about “Spell on Me” and the inspiration behind it!

Spell on Me is a tale about a girl who is typically accustomed to having her way with guys – effectively, able to cast a spell over them – who encounters a man who is not only resistant to her spell but further controls the woman with his own spell.

2) What is the inspiration behind your music?

My inspiration is rooted in the enjoyment that I experience by sending out good vibes through music & dance.  Also, my children are a constant source of inspiration as they are my biggest fans.

3) How is to lead with your career and your maternity.

I am blessed with my Dallas family in that I am able to juggle an acceptable balance between my career and motherhood.  It isn’t easy, but I think that I tend to get the best of both worlds.

4) The best thing you learned after becoming a mom?

Easily, the best thing that I have learned is to become more patient with myself.  Patience helps to keep me more grounded than I otherwise would be – and yes, it is indeed a virtue.

5) If you could work with any artist, who would it be?

Post Malone

6) What message do you want to spread through your songs?

Love yourself & learn from one’s mistakes. Practice forgiveness daily & give freely.

7) How long have you been writing music and singing?

I have been singing on an intermittent basis since my late twenties but only got serious within the past few years.  The songwriting is a fairly recent development and something that I have been learning on the job with my producer Damon Sharpe.

8) A dream duet?

Ed Sheeran

9) A music icon?

Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Celine Dion – just too many that I admire.

10) A childhood memory?

My favorite memories involved impromptu dance parties with my siblings, particularly my five sisters.  There were thirteen of us, so it could sometimes get a bit crowded.

11) Karaoke anthem?

Diamonds by Rhianna

12) How can you describe your fashion style?

Sophisticated comfort quickly done.

13) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I want to continue on my music, begin touring and undertaking some additional creative projects – all the while continuing my duties as a Mom and partner.

14) What popular means to you?

I am not sure exactly what it means to be popular.  I am less concerned with being broadly accepted by the public than establishing a connection with my audience.

15) Do you have any upcoming projects? Tell us about it!

I am already beginning work on my second album, which will have a slightly new feel from my first English effort (which will be released later in 2020).
