Spencer Sutherland releases new single ‘Too Many Friends’

Oct 2, 2020

Soulful star Spencer Sutherland is back to dazzle with a new dynamic dance track, “Too Many Friends,” where he frantically fights to free himself from the friend zone.

With his trademark retro sound and the desperately devoted lyrics, this lively number radiates with the alternative pop singer’s vocals.

Following the release of his last single “Help” earlier this year comes this new single, written and produced by Jonas Jeberg (Panic! At The Disco, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez) and co-written by David Gibson (Bruno Mars). “Too Many Friends” was inspired by Sutherland’s relationship with his girlfriend.

Sutherland‘s 2017 breakout single ‘Selfish’ caught the attention of iHeartRadio’s Elvis Duran, leading him to be selected as The Today Show’s ‘Artist of the Month.’ He was one of the Top 5 finalists for the iHeartRadio + Macy’s Rising Star competition and was also the first American artist to compete on the X Factor UK!

Since then, the Los Angeles based artist released his debut EP last year, NONE of this has been about you. He supported pop-rock duo Jack & Jack on their tour and headlined his own 12-stop American “The Freaking Out Tour” last summer!

“Too Many Friends is a big feel good moment for me,” Spencer said about the single. “In this crazy heavy world, I wanted to let people have an escape for a second and think about something fun. The song was inspired by now serious girlfriend Madison Iseman and is about essentially trying to get out of the friend zone.”
