THE 5 NEW POP ARTISTS ON THE BLOCK
Feb 29, 2016
With the pop scene everchanging, it’s hard to keep up with who you should be paying attention to. Since spring is around the corner, we’ve been keeping tabs on which women are going to be hitmakers. Keep your eyes on the five artists below because they’re certainly ones to watch.
KLOE
At 19-years-old Glaswegian electropop singer KLOE just released her EP Teenage Craze earlier this month, which serves as a goodbye to her youth. With her moody, breathtaking vocals, KLOE is one to look out for. Plus, she’s signed to IAMSOUND (aka the label that represents Charli XCX, Little Boots and Florence and the Machine). KLOE could just be the new Halsey.
Tessa Rae
LA born singer Tessa Rae is brand new on the music scene, but with her most recent single “Seventeen,” it looks like she’ll be here for the long haul. Through a fusion of R&B and dark pop, Tessa’s “Seventeen” is reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Lorde thanks to She Wants Revenge’s Justin Warfield who handled production. Don’t be surprisd if Tessa’s music starts popping up everywhere.
Betsy
With her gospel-infused melodies and 70s soul-influenced vocals, 22-year-old Betsy made quite an entrance with her first single “Fair.” We couldn’t help but think how much she sounded like Cher, so we’re on board.
VÉRITÉ
While New York singer-songwriter VÉRITÉ has yet to announce new music this year, she’s slated for upcoming festival performances and keep alluding to new things to come on her Facebook page. Her ethereal pop sound first surfaced back in 2014 with the heartbreaking single “Strange Enough”, and since then, we’ve just been wanting more.
Låpsley
British singer-songwriter Låpsley has been releasing singles since 2014, but this March we’ll finally see her debut solo album surface. Låpsley’s music oscillates between classical, pop and electronica, and her classical training has fueled her multi-instrumentation.
