THIS IS OUR JAM: BRITNEY SPEARS, TINASHE & CHARLOTTE CARDIN
Jul 20, 2016
We’re halfway through the summer and the hits keep on coming. Festival season is about halfway through and there’s a ton more happening in the music space that we need to talk about. In this week’s mix, we have a new hit from pop queen Britney Spears, newcomer Jocelyn Alice, an anthemic hit from Tinashe, a vibey single from Charlotte Cardin and Husser and a dark single from BANKS.
Listen to some of the best new tracks below.
Britney Spears ft. G-Eazy
“Make Me…”
Queen Britney still got it. She just made her comeback debut with G-Eazy because Brit is up on who’s cool these days obviously. The song isn’t quite a pop banger if you were expecting an “I’m A Slave 4 U” or “Toxic,” but its downtempo spirit is definitely something we can get down with.
Jocelyn Alice
“Feels Right”
There’s something infectious about Canadian singer Jocelyn Alice’s voice. It’s soulful and hypnotizing all at the same time. “Feels Right” feels amazing to us.
Tinashe
“Superlove”
While we’re still waiting for Tinashe’s album JOYRIDE to come, we’ll have to settle for the release of her single “Superlove.” It’s a pop banger that seems perfectly timed to her alleged romance with Calvin Harris. We can only hope that this describes their relationship.
Charlotte Cardin ft. Husser
“Like It Doesn’t Hurt”
If you’re into Lana Del Rey and Kacy Hill, Charlotte Cardin is going to be one of your new favorites. Cardin’s deep, breathy vocals are incredibly captivating, and you won’t want to stop listening to this one on repeat.
BANKS
“Fuck With Myself”
BANKS is back with a track that is as much self-deprecating as it is about not letting anyone else take her down. She does it best, so no one else has to do it for her. It’s a little bit haunting and filled with careful whispers that you won’t be able to get out of your head.
