TRACK PREMIERE: SOPHIE STRAUSS

Echoing the dreaminess of Jenny Lewis and Natalie Prass, Sophie Strauss paints a portrait of a California landscape with “In The Freezer.” The theatrical undertones in her vocals keep you intrigued for what’s next while she keeps the melodies super lo-fi. We wouldn’t be surprised if Strauss ends up on the festival circuit in the next year or so.

At 22, she’s a bi-coastal NYU student who recently recorded her upcoming debut EP Yeah No Fine while selling peaches at the Santa Monica farmers market. If you heard echoes of Rilo Kiley’s More Adventurous on this track, you’re not alone.
