ONE DESIGNER – ZAYN MALIK

Zayn Malik just scored himself a new designing gig, signing on with Versus Versace to create a capsule collection. Former 1D star Zayn Malik is set to embark on his very own raid into high-end fashion, thanks to his upcoming collab with Versus. The project, which is dubbed Zayn X Versus, will link the pop singer with powerhouse Versace for their streetwise diffusion line Versus.

“When we first met, he told me how much he loves fashion,” Donatella says in the release. “I thought it would be fantastic to collaborate on a new Versus collection together.” Donatella also stated that, Malik is “one of the most exciting personalities on the world stage right now” before continuing to state that, given his global fanbase, she expects a lot of excitement around the link up.

And Malik is unsurprisingly just as excited about the partnership. “I think Versus has always been a very cool brand,” he says in a statement. “It’s a great brand for me and for people in my generation. I’ve always wanted to design clothes, and there’s no brand I’d rather design for than Versus. The bonus is that I get to collaborate with Donatella, whom I love and admire. I know we’ll create something amazing.” Malik also teased this cryptic video on his social media.

The duo also confirmed that a percentage of the net proceeds from every piece of Zayn X Versus sold will be donated to charity. The Zayn X Versus pieces will be available to shop in May 2017, but you can get a first glimpse when Malik’s ad campaign drops in February.
